##SENDGRIDOPENTRACKING##

Dear students, alums and visitors to our campus,

You may have heard that western Massachusetts is expecting high heat conditions on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22. To that end, we wanted to share some information and tips to help you stay healthy and cool while you are on campus during our Commencement and Reunion celebrations.

Although anyone at any time can suffer from heat-related illness, some people are at greater risk than others. Check regularly on:

Infants and young children.
People aged 65 or older.
People who have a mental illness.
Those who are physically ill, especially with heart disease or high blood pressure.

Please drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, regardless of your activity level. Don’t wait until you feel thirsty to drink. Water is available in all campus buildings, at campus catered events, at Commencement, and there will be two water stations on Skinner Green during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Please bring a reusable water bottle so that you can keep water with you regularly and reduce waste.

To the extent possible, wear light colored clothing.

Please don’t bring pets to campus. They will not be allowed in campus buildings and should not be left in vehicles. Campus lakes and streams should not be utilized for swimming, cooling or drinking.

The Commencement venue and most of the residence halls are not air conditioned. See below for a list of buildings that are air conditioned and where you should go if you need to cool off.

Dining operations may look different than you are used to in an effort to protect the health and safety of our dining workers.

If you need support while on campus, please visit the medical tent located on Skinner Green or reach out to any available volunteers that are helping with events on campus.

Please enjoy and be safe during your visit to Mount Holyoke College.
